Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has issued a public apology after a fiery outburst during El Clásico intensified speculation that he could leave the Bernabéu, with Manchester United and Chelsea among the clubs reportedly monitoring his situation.
The Brazilian winger was visibly furious after being substituted by Xabi Alonso during Real Madrid’s 2–1 win over Barcelona, shouting in frustration before storming down the tunnel and appearing to claim: “It’s always me, I’m leaving the team.”
Tensions Rising at the Bernabéu
The 25-year-old’s reaction came amid what Spanish outlets describe as a “fractured” relationship with Alonso, who has left Vinicius out of the starting lineup for several key fixtures this season. He was benched against Getafe following the October international break and has struggled for rhythm since returning, failing to register a goal or assist in his last two starts against Juventus and Barcelona.
During the Clásico, Vinícius Junior went to the Real Madrid bench to grab a bottle of water for Pau Cubarsi, waited for him to have a drink and took it back to the bench.

After Sunday’s heated encounter, Vinicius was filmed confronting Lamine Yamal at full-time as emotions spilled over between both sets of players.
However, the Brazilian moved quickly to calm the situation, releasing a statement through Real Madrid on Wednesday apologising for his conduct.
“Today I want to apologise to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in the Clásico,” he said.
“Just as I have already done in person during today’s training, I also want to apologise again to my teammates, the club, and the president. Sometimes passion gets the better of me because I always want to win and help my team.
“My competitive character stems from the love I feel for this club and everything it represents. I promise to keep fighting every second for the good of Real Madrid.”
Premier League Interest Builds
Despite his statement, reports in Spain claim Vinicius believes his working relationship with Alonso may be beyond repair. Sources close to the player have suggested he could seek a new challenge if the situation fails to improve before the summer.
Both Chelsea and Manchester United are believed to be monitoring developments closely. The winger has 18 months left on his contract, and Real Madrid are said to have informed him that a renewal must be agreed before next summer or he will be sold.

Transfer insiders in England note that Vinicius remains unsettled and could be open to a Premier League switch, though he is not interested in a move outside Europe. A potential transfer for the Brazilian, long viewed as one of world football’s brightest attacking talents, would only be possible for a handful of elite clubs due to his valuation and profile.
Vinicius has registered five goals and four assists in 13 appearances this season, but his recent frustrations highlight a growing tension at Real Madrid as Alonso seeks to reshape the squad. Whether his apology marks the start of reconciliation or the beginning of an exit story will be one of the defining narratives of the coming months at the Bernabéu.
