Chelsea and Arsenal Circle as Bayern Munich Struggle to Keep Leroy Sané

Leroy Sané’s contract standoff with Bayern Munich has opened the door to a potential Premier League return, with London giants Chelsea and Arsenal closely monitoring the situation.

Sané’s agent switch sparks fresh doubts over Bayern future

Germany international Leroy Sané is reportedly reconsidering his future at Bayern Munich after replacing his former management team with super-agent Pini Zahavi. The move comes amid dissatisfaction with the club’s latest contract proposal.

According to Sky Sport reporters Kerry Hau and Florian Plettenberg, Sané was “unhappy with the conditions his old management agreed with Bayern” and believes Zahavi can secure a better deal. Despite his desire to remain in Bavaria, Sané has refused to sign the existing agreement, which has left Bayern vulnerable to losing the player.

Premier League beckons for unsettled winger

Sané is said to favour a move back to England should talks collapse, with the Premier League—particularly London—his preferred destination. Both Arsenal and Chelsea are understood to be seriously interested.

“Sané still wants to stay at Bayern, but is not ready to sign the old agreement. Therefore, a departure is now possible. Should he leave, Sané’s preference is the Premier League, in particular London. Arsenal and Chelsea are concrete options,” Sky reported.

Signing fee causes internal tension

A key sticking point is the absence of a signing bonus in Bayern’s initial renewal offer. This was reportedly accepted by Sané’s previous agents, but the winger has grown increasingly frustrated after learning that several team-mates received such bonuses when renewing their own deals.

“It’s also about a signing fee. Sané’s old management agreed with Bayern that there would be no signing fee, Sané wasn’t happy with that, as his teammates received one when they extended. Bayern are unwilling to significantly improve their current offer. The new talks [with Zahavi] will focus mainly on the signing fee.”

Family influence and London lifestyle appeal

According to Bild, Sané’s partner, Candice Brook, may also be a driving force behind the potential move. The American model reportedly prefers life in the British capital and supports relocating with their children.

“Leroy Sané’s partner Candice Brook is also behind the recent switch of agents. She’s a big fan of London and would love to live there with Leroy and their kids. Arsenal and Chelsea are said to be interested. Pini Zahavi has excellent contacts with the London clubs.”

Agent negotiations could impact Bayern’s other transfer plans

The saga may have wider implications for Bayern Munich, particularly in their efforts to land Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen. The centre-back is also represented by Zahavi, who now holds significant leverage in negotiations.

“The talks between Bayern and Pini Zahavi over Leroy Sané could also have an effect on a potential deal for Jonathan Tah. Bayern have renewed their interest in the defender, also represented by Zahavi – the agent now has many cards in his hands in the negotiations with Bayern.”

Site Opinion

From Bayern Munich’s perspective, the Sané situation is rapidly slipping out of their control. While the club has become accustomed to disciplined contract negotiations, their rigid stance on signing bonuses could cost them a key asset. This is not just a negotiation about money—it’s a reflection of player morale, perceived fairness, and modern football politics.

For Chelsea and Arsenal, this presents a rare opportunity. Sané is a world-class winger still in his prime, with extensive Premier League experience. If Bayern refuse to compromise, they risk strengthening a European rival, especially one with the financial power and location allure that London offers. This could be a defining moment in the summer window.
