Salernitana have confirmed the departure of Austrian defender Flavius Daniliuc, who has joined Serie A Hellas Verona FC on loan.
Daniliuc began his football journey with Austrian side Admira Wacker before moving to Rapid Vienna’s youth academy. After just a year, he moved to Real Madrid’s youth system, where he spent three years from 2011 to 2014. He then transferred to Bayern Munich’s youth team, playing there from 2015 to 2020 and debuting with their second team in his final year.
In the 2020/21 season, Daniliuc moved to Nice in Ligue 1, where he debuted on 2nd September in a match against Paris Saint-Germain. Over two seasons with Nice, he made 49 appearances and scored one goal. He also made his European debut in the Europa League against Slavia Prague during his first season with the French club.
Daniliuc joined Salernitana ahead of the 2022/23 season, marking his first experience in Serie A. He made 27 appearances in his debut season and began the following season with Salernitana, featuring in 14 matches before making a loan switch to Salzburg during the winter window. He played 11 matches in Austria’s top flight at the end of the season, returning to I Granata, by then relegated, at the end of the season.
Daniliuc has represented Austria at various youth levels on the international stage and earned three caps with the senior national team, including participation in Euro 2024.
He joins a Hellas Verona side currently with one win and one defeat from their opening fixtures in the top flight. I Gialloblu managed by Paolo Zanetti, finished 13th in Serie A last season, their fifth consecutive campaign amongst Italy’s elite.

This is a great move for the Austrian, who is once again in the shop window. To keep his international aspirations alive, he has to be playing regularly at a good level, and Verona offers that.
If his parent club are promoted, he’ll be like a new signing in the summer. If not, he’ll have nine months of exposure in Serie A, which will afford him some wiggle room when looking for his next challenge.
