Everton are reportedly considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain defender Milan Skriniar as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
The Toffees are preparing for an important summer under the stewardship of David Moyes and the new ownership group led by The Friedkin Group. While Premier League survival is all but secured, a major rebuild is on the horizon with several players nearing the end of their contracts or set to return to parent clubs following loan spells.
Moyes, who has revitalised Everton since his return to Goodison Park, is expected to target reinforcements across multiple positions – with central defence a key area of focus.
Milan Skriniar on Everton’s Radar
Sources indicate that Everton have joined the list of clubs tracking Skriniar’s situation. The Slovakian centre-back, currently on loan at Fenerbahce from PSG, has impressed during his stint in Turkey with his leadership, composure, and tactical awareness drawing praise.
Fenerbahce are keen to make his move permanent, but Everton are monitoring developments closely. Other Premier League sides, including Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace, and Bournemouth, are also believed to be keeping tabs on the defender.
Paris Saint-Germain, fresh from booking their place in the Champions League semi-finals, are expected to demand around £17 million for Skriniar should they agree to sanction a sale this summer.
Defensive Reinforcements a Priority for Moyes
Everton are set to lose Michael Keane when his contract expires at the end of the season, leaving Moyes with limited options at centre-back. The need for defensive reinforcements is clear, with Skriniar viewed as a player who could bring both experience and quality to Goodison Park.
The 29-year-old has been linked with Premier League moves in the past but has yet to experience English football. With a new era beginning at Bramley-Moore Dock, Everton could present a compelling opportunity for Skriniar to finally make the switch to England.
In addition to Skriniar, Everton are also thought to be considering other defensive targets, including Argentine international Facundo Medina.
Site Opinion
Milan Skriniar could prove to be a smart signing for Everton, offering experience, composure, and a winning mentality at a time when the club is seeking to build a more resilient core. His technical ability and defensive nous would undoubtedly strengthen the Toffees’ backline, while his leadership could be crucial in helping younger players develop.
With competition for his signature set to be fierce, Everton must move swiftly if they are serious about landing the Slovakian international. Given the reasonable asking price and the clear need for defensive reinforcements, this could be one of the more important deals of the summer for David Moyes’ side.
