Bayern Munich See Offer Rejected For Barcelona-Linked Star

Liverpool have made their stance clear on Luis Diaz’s future, rejecting a fresh approach from Bayern Munich just days after snubbing interest from Barcelona.

The 28-year-old Colombia international, who played a key role in last season’s title-winning campaign, remains firmly in the club’s plans despite persistent speculation linking him with a move away from Anfield.

According to MailOnline, Bayern Munich’s sporting director Max Eberl contacted Liverpool to enquire about Diaz’s availability, but the response was emphatic—he is not for sale. Barcelona had made a similar move earlier in the week and received the same answer, as Liverpool remain reluctant to lose a player who notched 17 goals and eight assists in 50 appearances last term.

Diaz, under contract until 2027, appears content with life on Merseyside. He recently commented while on international duty:

“I’m very, very happy in Liverpool. From day one, they’ve made me feel really welcome… I would be happy and content to stay there. And that’s it—everything depends on them obviously, it’s up to me to decide what’s best for us.”

Diaz Future Still Unclear Despite Public Loyalty

While Diaz has publicly committed to Liverpool, reports suggest that the club’s broader transfer strategy could still see high-profile exits to balance recent spending. The Reds are reportedly targeting £200 million in player sales, with notable names like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Nat Phillips and Caoimhin Kelleher already departing, and further sales expected.

Barcelona are continuing to track the winger, particularly as complications arise in their move for Athletic Club’s Nico Williams. With Bayern Munich also keeping a close eye on developments, the race for Diaz is not entirely over—even if Liverpool’s public position remains defiant.

Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, has previously identified Diaz as a preferred target for the left wing, and while Williams remains their top priority, they could revisit Diaz if that deal collapses. It’s also understood that Diaz’s representatives have informed Barcelona of his availability should Liverpool alter their stance.

Despite this, the price tag—reportedly around £51 million—may still prove prohibitive for financially constrained Barca, and Bayern’s interest might be cooled by Liverpool’s outright refusal to negotiate.

Site Opinion

This saga highlights how Liverpool’s strength in the market extends beyond just recruitment—they’re playing hardball to keep their best assets. Diaz’s goal return last season and his positional flexibility make him vital in the post-Klopp era, and the club’s refusal to cash in reflects both ambition and stability.

For Barcelona and Bayern, his admiration is clear, but unless one of them makes an extraordinary offer, Diaz is set to stay—and could even end up signing a new deal before long if Liverpool choose to reward his form.
