Bayern Munich Prepping £60 Million Bid For English Star

German giants Bayern Munich are reportedly weighing up a summer swoop for Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers, with a bid of around £60 million believed to be in preparation.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a standout campaign under Unai Emery, cementing his place as one of Villa’s most consistent and creative outlets across both Premier League and European competition. According to reports from Fichajes, his form has attracted serious interest from Bayern as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season.

Rogers on Bayern’s Radar

Despite sitting six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, Bayern remain eager to refresh their attacking line, particularly with club legend Thomas Müller expected to move on. Under Vincent Kompany’s stewardship, the Bavarians have already scored 83 goals in 29 league matches, but are still searching for added depth and versatility in the final third.

Rogers, capable of playing across a range of attacking positions, fits the mould. With 12 goals and nine assists this season, the England international has become pivotal to Villa’s style of play. Yet, with a contract running until 2030 and a strong relationship with Emery, his departure is anything but guaranteed.

Villa Face a Profit vs Progress Dilemma

Villa paid a maximum of £15 million to Middlesbrough for Rogers, meaning a potential Bayern offer would represent a fourfold return on their investment. However, the financial gain comes with risk. Rogers is not only thriving individually but is instrumental in Villa’s broader ambitions, both domestically and in Europe.

Emery has already seen his squad reshaped by the sale of Jhon Duran, and while those funds may have helped secure Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio in potential £55 million deals, financial pressures persist. Premier League Profit and Sustainability rules loom large, forcing Villa to balance books without dismantling the core of Emery’s team.

Whether Rogers wants to make the leap abroad is also in question. The forward is reportedly settled at Villa Park and enjoying his first prolonged spell of consistent form at senior level. With a World Cup year approaching, stability and playing time may outweigh the lure of the Allianz Arena.

Site Opinion

Villa’s challenge is twofold: keep their upward momentum while managing financial realities. Rogers has emerged as a symbol of that progress, and selling him now would send mixed signals about the club’s direction. Unless the player himself is eager to test himself in Germany, Villa would be wise to resist Bayern’s approach and build around their rising star – at least for one more season.
