AC Milan Tipped To Sign Manchester City Star

All indications suggest that Kyle Walker’s time at Manchester City is drawing to a close, with the England international poised for a permanent switch to AC Milan this summer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are ‘convinced’ about making Walker’s move permanent after a successful loan spell during the second half of the season. The 34-year-old defender, who moved to Serie A in January, has impressed the Rossoneri enough for them to trigger the purchase clause included in his loan agreement.

Walker’s current contract with Manchester City expires in 2026, but City had inserted a €5 million (£4.3 million) buy option in his loan deal. Last week, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that City will be seeking a replacement at right-back during the upcoming transfer window, signalling a new era for Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Walker is currently recovering from a fractured elbow sustained earlier this month. He underwent surgery and, while no official return date has been set, he is expected to feature again before the season concludes.

The Milan-based newspaper also reported that AC Milan are prepared to listen to offers for club captain Theo Hernandez, whose contract runs until 2026 but who has yet to agree a renewal. However, Walker’s future appears much more secure, with the Englishman set to anchor the right flank for Milan next season.

Kyle Walker’s potential permanent move to AC Milan could represent one of the most astute transfers of the summer. Despite his advancing years, Walker’s pace, experience and defensive acumen remain assets that any top club would value. For Milan, a modest fee of €5 million for a player of his calibre is a real bargain in today’s market.

From Manchester City’s perspective, it marks the end of a highly successful era. Walker was instrumental in City’s domination of English football over the past decade. Replacing a player of his pedigree will not be easy, but with the club already planning for the future, it appears the timing is right for both parties to move forward.
