A significant transfer offer is looming for Swedish football club Sirius, one that could break their existing record held by Wessam Ali, as reported by Fotbol Direkt.
The club, which has impressed this season, is set to receive a substantial bid in January from a prominent British side. They have caught attention not only for their on-field performances but also for their business acumen. The club is beginning to challenge some of the larger teams in the market, boasting several highly sought-after players. Among them is Noel Milleskog, a rising star who has attracted interest from clubs abroad.
Back in August, reports emerged of interest from Swansea City and Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles. According to fresh information obtained by FotbollDirekt, Swansea remains firmly in the race for Milleskog. It is understood that Sirius’ management is well aware of the Welsh club’s continued interest.
Sources close to the situation suggest that Swansea is prepared to offer between £1.6m and £2m for Milleskog, a player Sirius signed last winter from Djurgården. Swansea scouts have also reportedly travelled to Sweden to watch the 22-year-old in action.
When asked about the ongoing speculation, Milleskog was composed:
“As I mentioned a few months ago, it’s flattering. It shows that I’ve had a good season. But I know I still have more to give,” said Milleskog. “This doesn’t make me complacent. In fact, it makes me even more motivated to finish the last four games strong. It’s like fuel for me.”
Back in August, the estimated bid from Swansea hovered around £1.2m. Now, with talks of an offer exceeding £1.6m, it appears Sirius’ board may be more receptive to negotiations. A bid of this magnitude would surpass the club’s current transfer record, set by Wessam Ali’s £1.6m move to the Middle East.
Milleskog, who is on course to become Sirius’ most expensive transfer, remains focused on football but is mindful of the potential milestone:
“Should a deal happen, both Sirius and I are ready for it. Everyone dreams of stepping into European football at some stage, but it has to be a move that benefits all parties,” he said. “I want Sirius to be happy with the deal. This club has been pivotal in my development, and I want to give back for the trust and support I’ve received here.”
Milleskog has had an impressive season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in 24 Allsvenskan matches.

Sirius find themselves at a crossroads. Historically overshadowed by Swedish giants, the club is now positioning itself as a serious player in the transfer market. The potential sale of Noel Milleskog, if it materialises at the rumoured £2m mark, will not only shatter Sirius’ transfer record but also signify a turning point for their future strategy. They must ensure that they strike the right balance between nurturing talent and capitalising on lucrative deals, while maintaining a competitive edge in the league.
From a broader perspective, this transfer highlights the growing importance of mid-tier European clubs like Swansea in scouting and developing young talent. For Milleskog, a move to the Championship would be a significant step up, providing him with a platform to test himself in a more challenging and prestigious environment. Whether Sirius can hold on to their rising star or cash in remains to be seen, but either way, the coming months could reshape the club’s future.
