While excelling at Real Madrid and facing challenges both on and off the field, Mbappé remains deeply invested in elevating the Normandy-based club.
Revolutionising the Club
Under the guidance of Mbappé’s mother, Fayza Lamari, Prêcheur took on the role of technical director. Reflecting on his recruitment, he shared, “When I mentioned the project to Fayza and Kylian, within seconds of our first exchanges, it was an immediate match. We had a shared desire to place football at the heart of the club’s policy.”
Prêcheur’s initiatives include introducing a comprehensive performance unit, improving infrastructure such as a new weight room, and integrating nutrition into the club’s regimen. “When Stade Malherbe Caen reaches Ligue 1, it will not go back down,” he stated, outlining his vision for sustainability and success.
Investing in Player Development
Prêcheur detailed efforts to enhance player training and performance, including GPS tracking systems, new athletic trainers, and expanded video analysis. He also championed the development of the women’s section and the youth academy, hiring additional specialists to strengthen the training ecosystem.
“To approach excellence in training, everyone must evolve in a context favourable to their performance. We’ve invested in resources like physiotherapists and analysts to make this possible,” he explained.
