Bari Climb Serie B With Convincing Victory

Bari delivered a commanding 3-0 win against Frosinone in Serie B, continuing their strong form with a second consecutive victory.

The match, played at the Stadio Benito Stirpe, saw Moreno Longo’s side assert their dominance, scoring through Maita, Dorval, and Favilli, securing their first-ever victory at Frosinone’s ground. In contrast, Frosinone remain at the bottom of the table, still without a win this season.

The first half saw both teams trying to find an early breakthrough. Frosinone’s best chance came in the 16th minute when Partipilo fired a long-range shot, but it sailed wide. Bari, however, looked more dangerous, with Oliveri going close just minutes later. Frosinone goalkeeper Radunovic had to be alert, making key saves to deny further chances from Partipilo and Benali.

The deadlock was finally broken just before half-time. A well-executed corner kick found Maita at the edge of the box, and the midfielder fired a precise shot into the corner, leaving the Frosinone defense helpless. It was Maita’s first goal of the season and gave Bari a deserved 1-0 lead going into the break.

Frosinone made changes at the start of the second half, with coach Vincenzo Vivarini bringing on Kvernadze to try and inject some life into the team. However, Bari remained in control and quickly doubled their lead in the 52nd minute. Oliveri broke down the right and delivered a perfect pass to Dorval, who tapped the ball into an empty net for 2-0.

Bari’s dominance continued, and they sealed the win in the 65th minute after a mistake in Frosinone’s midfield. Benali quickly capitalized, setting up Favilli, who unleashed a powerful left-footed shot into the top corner, making it 3-0. The hosts tried to fight back, hitting the woodwork twice through Distefano and Tsadjout, but their efforts came too late.

Radunovic, Frosinone’s goalkeeper, had to leave the pitch after suffering a head injury in the second half, forcing Longo to bring on Pissardo. The substitute keeper held firm, denying Frosinone any consolation with crucial saves late in the match. In stoppage time, Favilli thought he had scored again with an acrobatic overhead kick, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

The result leaves Bari with eight points and pushes them into the playoff zone, while Frosinone remain rooted at the bottom of the table. It’s a particularly disappointing result for Frosinone, coming off the back of a heavy 4-0 defeat to Brescia in their previous match. With two consecutive losses and no wins in the season so far, Vivarini’s side will need to regroup quickly.

Bari, on the other hand, continue to build momentum. This 3-0 victory, their first away win of the season, was celebrated by over a thousand travelling fans from Bari. The team will now prepare for their next match against Cosenza, while Frosinone must find answers ahead of their upcoming fixtures to turn their season around.
