Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark has completed a move to Austrian outfit RB Salzburg, in a deal which is worth up to €11.8 million.
The 19-year-old made 14 appearances for the Merseyside club, scoring one goal during that time. Clark also came off the bench in the final of the Carabao Cup this year , and participated in the extra-time triumph over Chelsea. The Englishman now moves over into mainland Europe, to team up with his former assistant manager, Pep Lijnders, over at RB Salzburg.
“After an incredible three years at Liverpool FC, I’ve decided it’s time for a new challenge,” Clark wrote on X. ” I’ve learned so much during my time at the club and am very thankful for the opportunities and experiences I’ve had. Thank you to all the fans who supported me on this journey”
The midfielder then went on to say,“I am incredibly proud and excited to start this new chapter with Salzburg. I’m ready to work hard and bring my best to this team!”
Born in Epsom, Clark played for Birmingham in his younger years, while his father, Lee Clark, was the manager there. In 2014, the midfielder made the switch to the Newcastle United’s academy, soon after his father took a job at Blackpool.
The teenager has also appeared 10 times for the England youth teams, scoring once for the Under-18 side.
After spending seven years within the youth setup at Newcastle, Clark then transferred to Liverpool for a fee of £1.5million in 2022. After scoring 13 goals in 23 games for the U21 side, Clark made his first team debut in August 2022, featuring in a 9-0 hammering over Bournemouth.
Clark went on to make a further 13 appearances for the club, scoring only the one goal in the Europa League. However, now Clark has joined up with Lijnders in Austria, penning a five-year deal with RB Salzburg.

This deal certainly will catch the eye of many football fans across Europe, considering Salzburg eye for talent. The Austrian side are renowned for developing the next generation, as players like Haaland, Mane and Szoboszlai played for them at young ages.
Clark’s move to Salzburg has the potential to become very successful one. The midfielder already knows Lijnders from his time at Liverpool, so that will help the teenager settle down in his new surroundings. He also will get regular involvement in the first team, something he didn’t get at Liverpool. Considering his high ceiling, Salzburg could be the place where Clark fulfils his potential.
