Serie A Roundup: Como Stun Juventus as Inter Milan Go Level at the Top

Como pulled off the shock of the weekend by defeating Juventus 2–0, while Inter Milan closed in on top spot with victory at Roma and Torino edged past champions Napoli in a dramatic Serie A weekend.

Across Italy, there were goalless stalemates, late drama, and an early warning that this title race could become one of the tightest in years.

Como Make a Statement, Torino Sink Napoli

At the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, newly promoted Como stunned Juventus with a commanding 2–0 win. Marc-Oliver Kempf opened the scoring after just four minutes, and Nico Paz sealed the upset with a composed finish late in the second half. It was a memorable afternoon for Como, who earned their third league win and left Juventus frustrated after failing to convert long spells of possession into goals.

In Turin, Torino claimed a 1–0 victory over reigning champions Napoli, courtesy of a first-half strike from Giovanni Simeone. The Argentine forward, facing his former club, showed restraint in his celebration, holding up his hands in apology as he was applauded off by both sets of fans. Napoli thought they had equalised through Noa Lang deep into stoppage time, but VAR ruled the effort out for offside to hand Torino their second win of the season.

Inter Milan Prevails in Rome as Bologna and Milan Impress

At the Stadio Olimpico, Inter Milan beat Roma 1–0 thanks to an early goal from Ange-Yoan Bonny. The French forward latched onto Nicolò Barella’s through ball to coolly slot home, continuing his fine form after scoring in the previous round. Yann Sommer produced key saves to preserve the lead as Roma pushed hard for an equaliser but could not find a way through.

Elsewhere, AC Milan earned a 2–1 win over Fiorentina. Robin Gosens gave the visitors the lead shortly after half-time, but two goals from Rafael Leão turned the game on its head, including a decisive penalty six minutes from time. Bologna continued their excellent form, beating Cagliari 2–0 with goals from Emil Holm and Riccardo Orsolini.

There were no goals in draws between Atalanta and Lazio, Genoa and Parma, Lecce and Sassuolo, or Pisa and Hellas Verona, as several mid-table sides opted for caution.
