Real Madrid Hierarchy Rallies Around Alonso Amid Dressing Room Noise

Real Madrid’s narrow win over Olympiakos has triggered another message of unity from inside the dressing room, this time from Fede Valverde.

The midfielder has been under scrutiny this season, both for his form and for reports questioning his relationship with Xabi Alonso, yet he has used social media to shut down the noise.

Valverde addresses speculation

Various outlets in Spain have claimed that Valverde is among the senior players who have not been fully convinced by Alonso’s approach, grouping him with Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior. The Uruguayan has firmly denied that, posting a pointed statement on Instagram after the final whistle on Wednesday night.

He wrote that the squad had faced a week of intense scrutiny, but insisted that the players are united. He added that working alongside world-class attacking talent such as Vinicius and Kylian Mbappe is a privilege, although the real honour is being part of what he called the most committed team in the world.

He also spoke about his own form, explaining that he is pushing to rediscover his top level. Valverde said Alonso and his staff have supported him throughout the season and that the group remains together, even when results or performances bring criticism.

Madrid camp presents united front

Valverde’s message follows several others from the squad in recent days. Before the Olympiakos match, Alvaro Carreras told reporters that the atmosphere inside the dressing room was positive. Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni echoed the same theme.

On the touchline in the immediate aftermath of the game, Alonso was seen embracing Vinicius. The manager later spoke about progress behind the scenes in the hours leading up to the match, a remark taken as a hint toward recent tension.

Mbappe also contributed to the narrative of unity. Speaking in the mixed zone, he asked teammates and supporters to protect Alonso as the team tries to find rhythm in a season that has already included periods of turbulence.

Madrid remain top of La Liga and have continued to collect results while dealing with speculation about relationships inside the squad. Valverde’s intervention is the latest attempt to calm the situation as the club moves toward a congested December schedule.
