Lewandowski to AC Milan? Serie A Giants Make Bold Approach

AC Milan are weighing up an ambitious move for Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski, though a January switch appears unlikely.

The Serie A giants are believed to have held exploratory talks with the player’s agent, but financial and contractual barriers mean any potential deal is more likely to develop next summer.

Milan’s Search for Experience

According to reports from Italy, AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri is eager to strengthen his attacking options after an inconsistent first half of the season. The Rossoneri have struggled for goals and see Robert Lewandowski as the ideal blend of quality and leadership.

The Polish forward, who joined Barcelona in 2022, remains one of Europe’s most reliable finishers. Milan’s vision is reportedly to sign him on a free transfer, similar to the deal that brought Luka Modric to Serie A. However, sources suggest a move during the winter market would be almost impossible, given Barcelona’s financial restrictions and the difficulty in securing a suitable replacement mid-season.

Lewandowski’s Future at Barcelona

The 37-year-old has made his intentions clear: he wants to remain at Barcelona until at least the end of the season. Lewandowski has reportedly told head coach Hansi Flick he is open to accepting a reduced role in the team and even a pay cut to extend his stay at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Club officials and the player have agreed to revisit his situation next summer, when both parties will decide whether to trigger another year of his deal or allow him to move on. For Milan, that could open the door to a marquee signing if they can meet his wage demands and convince him of the project at San Siro.

With Lewandowski still determined to compete at the top level of European football, Milan’s interest could yet blossom into one of the standout transfer stories of 2026.
