Juventus Chaos Cannot Go On – Head Coach Warns Players

Juventus were forced to stage another dramatic late fightback as Igor Tudor warned his side cannot continue playing in such a chaotic fashion.

The Bianconeri followed up their 4-3 Derby d’Italia win over Inter with a 4-4 Champions League draw against Borussia Dortmund in Turin.

Another Wild Night in Turin

Three days on from Saturday’s exhausting league comeback, Juventus were back at it again under the lights of the Allianz Stadium. Dortmund led 4-2 heading into the final minutes, only for substitutes Dusan Vlahovic and Lloyd Kelly to rescue a point with stoppage-time strikes.

Tudor admitted the spectacle delighted supporters but left him frustrated, pointing to the toll back-to-back high-intensity games had taken on his players.

“We are conceding too many, at least we’re scoring a lot too, but we cannot carry on like this,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “It was so difficult in the second half to keep the energy levels up three days after an incredibly tough match.

“There was great heart, those who came off the bench made a big difference again, as they have been doing in all four matches now.”

Super-Subs Save the Day

Vlahovic, who began the night on the bench, came on to devastating effect, scoring twice and assisting Kelly’s dramatic header. Tudor was quick to highlight the importance of rotation, with Jonathan David and Lois Openda also battling for starting roles in attack. “When you play every three days and have five substitutions, there are no first-choice players,” he explained. “Games tend to be decided in the final stages, so the substitutes become crucial.”

The coach admitted fitness concerns shaped his selection, with key men including Bremer and Andrea Cambiaso returning from layoffs and Francisco Conceição unavailable. Kenan Yildiz, who scored a stunning goal, and Khephren Thuram were both described as “exhausted” after the match.

Defensive Issues Still Haunting Juventus

While the resilience of Tudor’s side was on display once again, the defensive lapses continue to worry. Seven goals conceded in two matches mark a sharp contrast to the club’s more conservative past. “We conceded the goals too cheaply, they were avoidable situations,” Tudor admitted. “In the end, individual quality is decisive in football.”

The manager insisted his team could not have given more under the circumstances, but he stressed the need to address defensive fragility if Juventus are to compete seriously on both domestic and European fronts.

Site Opinion

Juventus fans may be thrilled by the entertainment, but the alarm bells are ringing loudly. Igor Tudor’s men have shown admirable character, twice fighting back from desperate positions, yet such reckless openness leaves them vulnerable. The reliance on late heroics from Vlahovic and others will not be sustainable across a long season.

With defensive organisation once a cornerstone of Italian football, restoring balance must now be Tudor’s priority if the Bianconeri are to transform chaos into consistent success.
