Former Southend United midfielder Terrell Egbri has signed for Czech Republic outfit MFK Vyškov.
Vyškov, managed by Jan Kameník, plays in the second tier of Czech football and has swooped for Egbri after he spent a handful of seasons plying his trade in the non-league scene.
The 23-year-old is a right-sided midfielder, comfortable playing as a wing back or winger. Announcing the player on their website, they said, “A new name in Vyškov: we present Terrell Egbri.” They then added, “How will Terrell Egbri fare in the new environment presented by MFK Vyškov? He could get the opportunity to show himself fully this weekend, when the premier match of the Chance National League 2024/25 against Prostějov will take place.”
However, the winger missed the game, which his new club drew 0-0. They’re hunting a place in the top flight, having previously been beaten in the play-off final by MFK Karviná last season.

Egbri came through the youth ranks at Southend, appearing six times in the ill-fated 2019/20 season when the club dropped out of League One; he scored a single goal that campaign in a 3-1 win against Bristol Rovers.
Two more seasons followed, with relegation out of League Two in 2021 and in to the National League. After a season in the fifth-tier of English football, Egbri was released. Spells with Bishop’s Stortford, Harlow Town, Maldon, and Tiptree, and Babrungas in Lithuania followed before a return to Malden in 2024.
His form there has clearly caught the eye of his latest employers, and despite his many clubs, he’s still only young at 23. He’s now in line to make his debut this weekend against FC Vysočina Jihlava, beaten 2-0 on the opening Saturday of the season at home.

Egbri can count himself very unlucky with his Southend stint. He was a young player who should have been enjoying loan spells without too much pressure, but many of the youth players were hung out to dry as the club imploded.
Those spells around the non-league scene will have helped him adjust to senior football, and this is his big chance. Vyškov will be hopeful of a play-off spot this season, and if he can play a key role in that, he could be playing in one of Europe’s top-flight divisions in the 2025/26 season.
That’s a long way from the misery he was enduring in England’s fifth-tier under Ron martin’s awful tenure as club chairman,.
