Werder Bremen 1–0 Union Berlin
Friday night’s curtain-raiser saw Werder Bremen edge Union Berlin in a tight affair. Marco Grüll scored the only goal of the match with a precise strike midway through the second half.
The win lifts Bremen into the top half of the table, continuing their steady improvement under Ole Werner. Union struggled to create meaningful chances and were left frustrated once again as their inconsistent start to the campaign goes on.

Augsburg 0–6 RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig produced the weekend’s standout performance, destroying Augsburg with a six-goal masterclass. Six different players found the net as Leipzig surged to a 4–0 lead before half-time, with goals from Diomande, Rômulo, Nusa, and Baumgartner. Ouédraogo and Lukeba added further gloss after the break.
The victory consolidates Leipzig’s position in second place and keeps pressure on leaders Bayern Munich. Augsburg’s defence looked fragile throughout and the heavy defeat leaves them hovering just above the drop zone.
Eintracht Frankfurt 2–0 St. Pauli
Jonathan Burkardt’s brace fired Eintracht Frankfurt back into the top half of the table. The German forward struck in both halves to secure a comfortable home win and ease the pressure following an inconsistent run of results.
Frankfurt’s attack finally clicked, and Burkardt’s growing confidence could be crucial for their European push. St. Pauli, by contrast, looked short of ideas in the final third and slipped to their fifth defeat of the campaign.

Hamburger SV 0–1 Wolfsburg
A solitary strike from Amara Daghim earned Wolfsburg a much-needed victory at the Volksparkstadion. The visitors struck early and defended resiliently for the remaining seventy-five minutes, showing the kind of organisation that had been missing in previous weeks. For Hamburg, a frustrating afternoon saw few clear chances, with their attacking play too predictable to trouble the Wolfsburg back line.
The result lifts Wolfsburg to twelfth, while Hamburg’s inconsistent start continues.
Hoffenheim 3–1 Heidenheim
Hoffenheim returned to winning ways in style, brushing aside Heidenheim in Sinsheim. Fabian Asllani and Tim Lemperle put the hosts two up by half-time, before Andrej Kramarić sealed the points midway through the second period. Stefan Schimmer’s late consolation was the only blemish on an otherwise dominant home performance.
Hoffenheim move up to seventh, maintaining their push for European qualification, while Heidenheim remain stranded near the bottom with just one win all season.
Borussia Mönchengladbach 0–3 Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich continued their flawless start to the campaign, extending their winning run to eight games. Gladbach’s task was made impossible when Jens Castrop received a red card inside twenty minutes. Joshua Kimmich’s long-range strike finally broke the deadlock after the hour, and further goals from Raphaël Guerreiro and Leonhard Karl sealed a routine victory.
Bayern have now scored thirty goals and conceded only four, underlining their dominance. Gladbach stay rooted to the foot of the table, still without a win.
Borussia Dortmund 1–0 Köln
Borussia Dortmund left it late at Signal Iduna Park, with Maximilian Beier netting a dramatic stoppage-time winner to edge out a stubborn Köln side. Despite dominating possession, Dortmund found clear chances hard to come by until Beier’s decisive finish in the sixth minute of injury time.
The victory moves BVB to fourth, maintaining pressure on the leaders. Köln slip to eighth after missing several good openings of their own.

Sunday 26 October
Bayer Leverkusen 2–0 Freiburg
Bayer Leverkusen responded to their midweek hammering in Paris with a commanding display at the BayArena. Dutch midfielder Ernest Poku broke the deadlock after a slick one-two with Aleix García, his third goal in four league matches. Edmond Tapsoba doubled the advantage early in the second half with a towering header from a corner, before Freiburg’s Philipp Lienhart saw red for a second booking.
The result ends Freiburg’s eight-game unbeaten run and moves Leverkusen up to fifth, keeping them within touching distance of the top four. Patrik Schick’s return from injury added further positives for Kasper Hjulmand’s side.
Stuttgart 2–1 Mainz 05
Stuttgart climbed into the top three thanks to a late winner from Deniz Undav. Mainz took the lead through Nadiem Amiri’s first-half penalty, but Chris Führich equalised just before the interval. Undav then completed the turnaround with eleven minutes remaining to continue Stuttgart’s fine early-season form.
Mainz, who have lost six of their opening eight matches, remain deep in relegation trouble and face the same opponents again in the German Cup on Wednesday.
