Arsenal and Spurs Eye Bargain £16m Bundesliga Star

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head-to-head this summer in pursuit of Stuttgart’s Enzo Millot, a rising French midfield talent available for a cut-price £16m.

Millot’s Rise Draws Premier League Interest

With the summer transfer window on the horizon, Arsenal and Tottenham are once again poised for a North London skirmish—this time over 22-year-old Enzo Millot. As reported by BILD, both clubs have expressed interest in the Stuttgart midfielder, who has caught the eye with a breakout Bundesliga season and a modest release clause of just under €20m (£16.8m).

Millot joined Stuttgart from AS Monaco in 2021 for a fee of around €1.5m and has since emerged as a dynamic presence in midfield. This season, he has registered eight goals and seven assists, prompting several top clubs to consider activating his clause.

“That’s a Goal I Have Set for Myself”

Speaking while on international duty with France’s Under-21s, Millot addressed the speculation surrounding his future:

“Of course, that’s a goal I have set for myself,”

he said when asked about a potential move away from Stuttgart this summer.

He also emphasised his appreciation for his current club:

“I would be happy to remain with Stuttgart because of the club’s commitment to developing young players like myself.”

This balance between ambition and loyalty is reportedly a key factor in his growing appeal to clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham, both known for nurturing technical midfielders in their squads.

Midfield Reinforcements in Focus

At Arsenal, the focus remains on midfield depth and creativity. While Declan Rice has brought much-needed steel, Mikel Arteta’s side is still exploring options to complement his qualities. Other linked names, such as Real Sociedad’s Martín Zubimendi and Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães, come with far steeper price tags.

Tottenham, facing the prospect of missing out on Champions League qualification, are also prioritising smart investments. Injuries have exposed their lack of depth in midfield, and Millot’s energy, vision, and goal-scoring ability offer a promising solution without breaking the bank.

Interest Grows Across Europe

While Arsenal and Spurs appear to be leading the race, they’re not alone. Liverpool and Chelsea were linked with Millot in January, and further competition is expected in the coming weeks. His relatively low buyout clause makes him a realistic target for multiple sides—but only those able to present a clear pathway and project will stand a chance.

In today’s market, efficiency and clarity may trump raw spending power. Whichever club can promise Millot the right platform may well win the race.

Site Opinion

Enzo Millot represents the type of transfer that top Premier League clubs too often overlook in favour of bigger names and price tags. At just 22, he already shows a maturity and technical finesse that suggests he could thrive in English football—especially in systems that reward press-resistance and progressive ball movement.

For Arsenal and Tottenham, this isn’t just about depth—it’s about long-term vision. Millot offers a low-risk, high-reward profile that fits both clubs’ needs. With Champions League ambitions and financial caution in mind, a move for the Stuttgart midfielder could prove both pragmatic and inspired.
